Relive the Magic of Storytime

Charlotte Chinese Story Time welcomed over 40 families to a festive and immersive Christmas Story Time in Chinese at South County Regional Library. The event reached full capacity, with the room filled wall-to-wall with children and parents ready to celebrate the holiday through language, culture, art, and joyful learning.

Charlotte Chinese Story Time (CCST) is pleased to announce that we have been selected as a Culture Blocks program provider for 2026. Administered by the Arts & Science Council (ASC) in partnership with Mecklenburg County, the Culture Blocks program connects local communities with responsive, accessible, and meaningful arts, science, and cultural experiences close to where residents live.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 National Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest is officially open for registration! Children and teens ages 3–18 from across the U.S. are invited to celebrate the beauty of Chinese language and culture through spoken word.

Charlotte Chinese Story Time is proud to announce that our organization has been awarded the 2025 Best Cultural Leadership Award by the Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC). The award was presented during the annual Best Asian Business Awards Gala held on November 6, 2025, at The Casey by Beau Monde in Charlotte.

Charlotte Chinese Story Time had the joy of returning to the 5th Annual Taste of China Festival at Downtown Cary Park. This was our second year participating in this wonderful statewide celebration—and it felt just as exciting and heartwarming as the first time.

On October 4, Charlotte Chinese Story Time hosted the fourth session of its Chinese Traditional Art Workshop for Children — Cloisonné (Jingtai Lan) — at the Pineville Library. The event was a joyful blend of culture, creativity, and community, introducing families to one of China’s most intricate and beautiful traditional crafts.

On October 4, 2025, Charlotte Chinese Story Time hosted its annual Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural Fair at the Pineville Library Community Room, welcoming over 103 families — more than 300 participants in total — throughout the afternoon between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM.

On September 27, Charlotte Chinese Story Time hosted another inspiring session of the Chinese Traditional Art Workshop for Children — a Foam Block Printing Workshop held at the Pineville Library, led by Founder Ms. Jenny Zhan and Board Member Ms. Meiyi Lin. The workshop offered families a hands-on journey through the fascinating history and evolution of Chinese printing arts.

On September 20, Charlotte Chinese Story Time hosted a lively Chinese Brush Painting Workshop for Children at Pineville Library — part of the ongoing Chinese Traditional Art Workshop for Children series supported by ASC Culture Blocks.

The event drew a full house of eager participants, including children, parents, and volunteers, all ready to explore this unique art form.
