This year, Charlotte Chinese Story Time invites you to join us for a Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural Fair — an afternoon filled with fun, tradition, and hands-on activities for the whole family. Whether you are discovering this festival for the first time or continuing a beloved tradition, our event promises a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can connect, create, and celebrate together.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It is a time for family reunions, moon gazing, and sharing mooncakes — a sweet pastry symbolizing unity and completeness. The festival is also rich in legends, such as the story of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess, and Hou Yi, the archer who shot down nine suns.
