Last Saturday at ImaginOn was full of stories, culture, smiles, and little moments of wonder. ✨

Charlotte Chinese Story Time was so happy to join the 2026 Día Festival and share Chinese language and culture with families across our community.

From Chinese picture books and traditional clothing try-ons to ring toss games, lion dance props, panda photos, and cultural displays, we loved seeing children explore, play, ask questions, and celebrate culture together. 🐼📚

Día celebrates children, books, languages, and cultures — and we were honored to be part of such a joyful community event.

A heartfelt thank-you to Charlotte Mecklenburg Library @cmlibrary and ImaginOn for having us, and to our wonderful volunteers and youth helpers for bringing so much warmth and energy to our booth.

One of the children who often comes to our story time spotted our photo on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library homepage and asked his parent to send us a screenshot. That was how we discovered that Charlotte Chinese Story Time was actually featured in the Spotlight section!

We are so honored and excited to see our community represented there. Thank you to Charlotte Mecklenburg Library for highlighting this wonderful celebration of children, books, and cultures.

This session was more than practice—
it was a real stage experience.

From walking onto the stage,
to pausing with confidence, delivering an introduction,
taking a breath before beginning,
and ending with intention—
every detail was carefully practiced.

With guidance from instructors
and support from parents,
each child stepped up and gave their best.

And you can see the transformation—
from nervous to confident,
from reading to expressing,
from a student to a young performer. 💛

This is more than recitation training—
it’s about building stage presence and confidence.

🌸 What a beautiful spring morning with our CCST families!

Our Spring Chinese Storytime + Art Workshop at Matthews Library was completely filled with laughter, learning, and creativity. 💛

✨ Over 30 families joined us
✨ Children explored spring through songs, stories, and movement
✨ Learned Chinese words like 春、花、草、雨 in a fun, interactive way
✨ Created their own spring-inspired artwork featuring the Chinese character “春”

From singing together to planting imaginary flowers, from listening to stories to proudly holding up their artwork—every moment was full of joy and connection. 🌱

🎨 A huge thank you to our wonderful art instructor Ms. Qian Wang for guiding such a meaningful and engaging hands-on experience. The children absolutely loved creating their spring duck artwork!

We are so grateful to our families, volunteers, and community for making this event so special.

At CCST, we believe:
Language begins with stories. Culture begins in childhood.

Through this contest, we celebrate children’s language development, confidence, stage presence, and appreciation for Chinese language and culture. We are delighted to highlight the hard work and talent of our young participants.

Our Chinese Cultural Immersion Camp (Ages 5–12) in Charlotte offers a full-day program filled with creativity, storytelling, and hands-on Chinese traditional arts.

🎨 Two unique weeks — two completely different experiences:
👉 Week 1 (June 15–19): Traditional Arts & Colors
Chinese Zodiac stories, blue-and-white porcelain art, Peking opera mask painting, and traditional wax dyeing.
👉 Week 2 (June 22–26): Light, Color & Imagination
Kite art, tie-dye, the Nine-Colored Deer, and shadow puppetry.
