About the event
Every family has a story, and every child has a voice worth hearing.
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Charlotte Chinese Story Time invited children and teens in the Charlotte Chinese American community to tell their family stories through one original artwork and one short English story.
The selected works reflect many different experiences — family journeys to America, traditions passed from one generation to the next, growing up between two cultures, memories of Charlotte, and hopes for America’s future.
Please join us for a special reception honoring our young artists and their families. Guests will have the opportunity to view the exhibition, meet participating families, and hear from several young artists as they share the stories behind their work.
This is not an art competition. The heart of the project is storytelling, connection, and preserving the voices of Chinese American families in our community.
