About the event

Discover Zanhua, a traditional floral hair ornament from Xunpu Village in Quanzhou, China.

Rooted in the Maritime Silk Road, Zanhua reflects Minnan heritage and centuries of cultural exchange. Traditionally made with fresh flowers such as jasmine and tuberose, these beautiful floral pieces symbolize beauty, joy, and good fortune.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about the cultural background of Zanhua and recreate this tradition using safe, child-friendly artificial flowers. Each participant will design and make their own Zanhua-inspired hair accessory to take home.

This workshop is family-friendly and open to children, adults, and community members.

No prior experience is required.
