Join us for a free Five-Animal Qigong Workshop led by Professor Wenfang Yang from the College of Physical Education at Shanghai Normal University. This all-ages workshop introduces Wuqinxi, a traditional Chinese wellness practice inspired by the movements of the tiger, deer, bear, monkey, and bird.

About the event
Discover Wuqinxi, also known as the Five-Animal Exercise, a traditional Chinese Qigong practice inspired by the movements of the tiger, deer, bear, monkey, and bird.
Charlotte Chinese Story Time is excited to invite Professor Wenfang Yang from the College of Physical Education at Shanghai Normal University to lead this special community workshop. Professor Yang will introduce participants to the history, movements, and wellness benefits of Wuqinxi in an engaging and accessible way.
Practiced for over 1,800 years, Wuqinxi combines gentle stretching, controlled breathing, balance, coordination, and playful animal-inspired movements. It is a meaningful way for families and community members to experience traditional Chinese health practices together.
This workshop is open to all ages and experience levels. Children, adults, seniors, and families are all welcome. No prior Qigong, martial arts, or dance experience is required.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow you to move easily.
