Happy Valentine’s Day 2023 at Charlotte Chinese Story Time

Love was in the air at Charlotte Chinese Story Time, where 25 families gathered to celebrate Valentine’s Day through stories, language, and connection. We are especially grateful to the South County Library for providing a larger space to accommodate our growing community — it was a full house filled with laughter and learning!

This special session focused on the theme of love and family. Children learned how to say “I love you” in Chinese and practiced vocabulary for family members, helping them express affection toward their parents and loved ones in a new language. Through stories and songs, they discovered that love can be shared not only through words but also through actions and kindness.

The storytime was beautifully led by Jenny and Jing Zhu, whose thoughtful preparation and enthusiasm brought the Valentine’s theme to life. Their storytelling, interactive games, and gentle guidance made this celebration both educational and heartwarming.

We are so thankful to all the families who joined us for this event and continue to support our mission of sharing Chinese language and culture with the Charlotte community.
